The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick, which was formerly known as “the last rites” or “extreme unction,” is a privileged place in which the Risen Jesus can be encountered and his care for the sick felt by the believer. The sacrament is available to any person who is experiencing serious illness or disability. It is not limited to persons who are close to death, and it can be given more than one time.

The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is occasionally offered at St. Thomas More during Sunday Eucharist. More often it is offered by appointment. Persons desiring the sacrament should call the parish offices at 404-378-4588.
