    • Infant Baptism

The Sacrament of Baptism is an invitation from the Holy Spirit to a life of fullness within God’s family. By choosing to baptize your child, you are entrusting them to Christ and welcoming them into the Christian community. STM is pleased to be a part of this special moment.

“Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons [and daughters] of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1213)

Baptism is really the beginning of a journey to transform the world in the light of Christ. It is also a call to share in the common life of the community, deepened with Confirmation and Eucharist. Parents, together with the sponsor(s) (godparents), live and share their faith with the child, raise them in the faith, and share God’s love with them.

      Steps for Infant Baptism
      1. Please fill out the baptism intake form. This form helps us in our sacramental record-keeping.
      2. Ask the Catholic baptism sponsors to fill out the sponsorship letter and have it signed by their pastor. Click here to download the sponsorship letter.
      3. If you are a member of another parish, a letter from your pastor is required for your child to be baptized here at STM.
      4. Schedule your one-hour baptism class (click here to register)
      5. Please note that the baptism class and sponsor letters must be completed and received at least TWO weeks before the date of baptism.

Please get in touch with the parish office at [email protected] or 404-378-4588 to schedule a baptism.

      Adult Baptism

Adults have celebrated the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist) since the early church. The church takes seriously the Holy Spirit’s invitation to someone to enter the Catholic Church. Normally, preparation and faith formation occur through the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) process. This time allows for continued discernment, deepening one’s conversion to the faith, and exploring what it means to be Catholic. Learn more about RCIA here.

The Christian community welcomes you with great joy!
