RCIA

Interested in Becoming Catholic? Or learn more about the Catholic faith?
RCIA might be for you. This program is for any non-Catholic adult who wants to explore the spirituality and wisdom of Catholicism, and/or who would like to be received into the church through the Sacraments of Initiation. RCIA is also for adult Catholics who have not yet been confirmed. There’s no obligation or cost to participate. We meet on Tuesdays from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm in the St Julie Room. If you are interested or have any questions, please email RCIA Directors Fran and Carl McColman at rcia@stmga.org. You can fill out the registration forms on our website, at these links:

RCIA this Summer!
RCIA at St. Thomas More is a year-round opportunity for adults to learn more about the Catholic faith and to prepare to receive the sacraments! This summer, RCIA is hosting an online book group to discuss Richard Rohr’s The Great Themes of Scripture. If you are thinking about joining the Catholic Church, or you simply want to learn more about our faith and spirituality, we invite you to join us. The first session will meet on Tuesday, May 2 (but you can join us at any time). For more information, please contact Carl and Fran McColman at rcia@stmga.org

RCIA is also hosting several “Open Houses” for anyone who wants to learn more about RCIA and the process of receiving the sacraments and becoming Catholic! Join us on one of the following Sundays. Each open house will take place in the St. Julie Room, behind the Parish Library (but look for an RCIA representative after Mass, we’ll be holding an RCIA sign so you can find us).

Here are the dates/times of the RCIA Open Houses:
July 23, after the 9 AM Mass
August 13, after the 10:15 AM Mass
August 27, after the 11:30 AM Mass

RCIA Needs Sponsors
Our parish is blessed with a number of individuals who are seeking to learn more about Catholic spirituality, and/or are thinking about becoming Catholic. An important part of our RCIA is connecting each participant with a sponsor – a member of the parish who is willing to accompany them as they explore this spiritual path.  Sponsors do not have to be experts in theology or Catholic doctrine – it’s a job for ordinary, everyday Catholics who are willing to be a friend and companion to someone who is discovering the beauty of our faith. Sound interesting? Please reach out to Richard Joseph at richardjoseph@comcast.net to learn more or to volunteer.

If you have any questions, please contact Carl and Fran McColman, our RCIA Coordinators, at rcia@stmga.org. If you do not have access to email, please call the parish office.
