The VIRTUS Program began over twenty years ago to establish a program to safeguard children and the vulnerable from sexual abuse. In 2002, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops adopted the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People (Charter), which remains the guiding document for all dioceses within the U.S. today. While the Charter gives dioceses a baseline on how to address protecting the vulnerable within the ministry, it is part of our mission as caring adults to protect all vulnerable.
It is the responsibility of each of us to protect God's children. If you become aware of or have a reasonable suspicion of abuse, you must report it within 24 hours by Georgia law. Reports can be made at any time, day or night, by calling 1-855-GA CHILD (1-855-422-4453)

The Archdiocese's Victim Assistance Program offers avenues to counseling/therapy and spiritual guidance for you and your loved ones.
